Electrical Inspection, Repairs, Panel/Disconnect Work, and Utility Connection at Camp Kilohana, Island of Hawai‘i

  1. Introduction

Girl Scouts of Hawaii is seeking quotes from qualified, licensed electrical contractors to perform a full electrical inspection of the property, complete necessary repair or upgrade work (including panel and disconnect repair), and connect two existing buildings to the electrical grid from the utility pole located at the property perimeter.

The project is intended to ensure safety, compliance, and a reliable power supply to the campground.

  1. Scope of Work

The selected contractor will be responsible for:

A. Electrical Inspection

  • Conduct a comprehensive inspection of electrical systems in all buildings.
  • Assess panels, wiring, outlets, fixtures, and safety systems.
  • Provide a report with identified deficiencies and recommendations.

B. Repairs & Upgrades

  • Correct deficiencies identified during inspection.
  • Specific tasks may include:
  • Electrical panel and disconnect repair or replacement
  • Panel upgrades or service replacements
  • Wiring repairs or replacements
  • Grounding and bonding improvements
  • Installation or repair of outlets, switches, and fixtures
  • Compliance upgrades per NEC, state, and county codes

C. Utility Connection for Two Buildings

  • Provide design and installation to connect two existing buildings on the property (Baldwin and Pohaku Lodges) to electricity from the utility pole located at the property perimeter.
  • Work may include:
  • Coordinating with the local utility company for approvals and permits
  • Trenching, conduit installation, or overhead wiring as appropriate
  • Service entrance installation (meters, panels, disconnects)
  • Testing and certification of power connection
  • Ensure work is fully compliant with all applicable regulations.

D. Documentation

  • Provide inspection reports, permits, and approval documents.
  • Submit itemized invoices for labor, equipment, and materials.
  1. Contractor Qualifications
  • Hold a valid electrical contractor’s license in the State of Hawaii (or relevant jurisdiction).
  • Demonstrate prior experience with similar inspection, repair, and connection projects.
  • Carry appropriate insurance (general liability, workers’ compensation).
  • Provide three (3) references.
