Skill Level:
Assistant Project Manager to work in a team environment to design and develop commercial and industrial HVAC, piping and plumbing systems.
Interface with clients, production team, negotiate project scope, perform technical studies (due diligence, feasibility reports, etc.) and perform load calculations, energy simulations and equipment selections. 
Assistant Project Manager to help transition projects from estimators and sales advisors to field project managers.
Develop, and maintain engineering scope of projects along with Project Managers.
  • Perform detailed load calculations and interpret the results.
  • Perform life-cycle cost analysis among system alternatives to determine energy impacts of each alternative and assist in system selection.
  • Develop HVAC documents including, but not limited to duct sizing & routing, air distribution selection, pipe sizing and routing, etc. 
  • Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
  • Perform and understand initial set-up on and off jobsite, including puling material and creating PO's.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications.
  • Coordinate mechanical requirements with architects, electrical, structural & civil engineers.
  • Help finalize estimates and proposals for using in production.
  • Help process estimates and proposals to forms suitable for field use 
  • Manage submittals process for upcoming projects.
  • Produce shop drawings, submittals, equipment lists, and other information to help Production team to provide consistent value to our customers.
  • Clearly identify and meet our commitments to the customer (owners, general contractors, etc.), design/construction team members (architects, electrical engineers, other trade contractors, etc.) and internal customers
  • Great motor and listening skills.
  • Perform job site inspections and field reports.
  • Utilize AutoCAD or Revit 2012 (or higher) to support job responsibilities and document development. 
  • Manage the Planning Meeting process.
  • Manage the close out process including as built drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Requirements: 
  • Valid Driver's License and a safe driving record.
  • Associate Degree in related field (Preferably Mechanical Engineering or Technology).
  • A minimum 2 years of direct experience in the design and development of mechanical system layouts preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other drawing/modelling programs.
  • Proficient with Scheduling Software Packages.
  • Ability to convey technical requirements/systems in fundamental terms.
  • Understanding of costs of mechanical systems and installation.
  • Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while maintaining a strong focus on serving our clients, project managers, and field teams. 
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, and structural trade drawings. 
  • Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components and building spaces, using computer-assisted equipment.
  • Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
  • Modify and designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items, such as ductwork and equipment components.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained or used.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a professional appearance. 
  • Ability to be observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Ability in compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing or verifying information or data.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
  • Ability to developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems or products, including artistic contributions as well as develop detailed design drawings and specifications for HVAC and mechanical equipment using controls and computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Coordinate with and consult with other coworkers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
  • Ability in using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information which also includes spreadsheets, email, web-enabled applications and database software.
  • Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
