About the Role

  • We are looking for a Full Time Unit Secretary to join our team. The Unit Secretary is responsible for supporting the administrative and operational functions of the clinic. This includes duties such as triage phone calls, authorizations, patient forms, insurance administration, clinical duties, and serving as a back-up receptionist/clinical assistant.

What You'll Do

  • Assisting clinic staff with administrative duties and tasking
  • Answering and triaging phone calls for clinic team
  • Providing patients with appropriate answers to clinical questions and concerns
  • Assisting patients with EDD and other required forms
  • Creating RFA’s for Worker’s Compensation patients and follow-up on authorizations and approval
  • Instructing patient regarding applicable surgical and diagnostic procedures
  • Registering patient information into EMR including demographic information, work status, and disability
  • Verifying insurance information and assisting in authorizing visits, referrals, procedures, diagnostics, etc.
  • Collecting payments for HA/PRP procedures and explain practice financial policy, and post payments into computer system
  • Prepping and organizing daily charts ensuring that all necessary paperwork, referrals, and authorizations are present
  • Assisting physician with clinic supplies and procedures
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms as needed
  • Assisting with transportation requests for non-ambulatory patients

What We're Looking For

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate

Experience:

  • 1 year in a medical office (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills. Ability to multitask.
  • Appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace, and confidentiality methods.
  • Effectively sharing information with parents and families.
  • Physical ability to do varied activities including prolonged sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately, or correctable to, 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print)
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly/occasionally.

The pay range for this role is:

21 - 23 USD per hour (Capitola Clinic)
