About the Role

• We are looking for a Full-Time MRI Scheduler to join our team
• The MRI Scheduler is responsible for scheduling MRI appointments, screening patients for MRI safety, reviewing MRI orders for accuracy, and acting as the liaison between physicians, patients' insurance carriers and our facility.

What You'll Do

• Calling patients to schedule MRI scans
• Screening patients for MRI safety
• Reviewing MRI orders for accuracy
• Obtaining pre-certification/pre-authorization from insurance companies prior for each procedure and test, using an online application or by contacting insurer on the telephone
• Discussing pre-procedure instructions as directed by physicians
• Obtaining all requested medical clearances, preoperative testing, lab and EKG results as indicated
• Scheduling follow-up appointments per physician protocols
• Additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

• Familiar with authorizations or medical insurances
• Knowledge of medical scheduling and EMR/EHR software (Nextgen preferred)
• Familiar with medical terminology
