Growth Account Executive II

About Guru

AI is everywhere at work now, but it's only as good as the knowledge behind it. When that knowledge is scattered, outdated, or ungoverned, AI gives confident, wrong answers, and that's a real problem for companies trusting it with sensitive information. Guru fixes that at the foundation: we structure your company's knowledge, govern and continuously improve it, and power every AI and human workflow from one trusted source, with permissions and citations built in.

We're a Series C venture-backed company, built lean and AI-native on purpose. That means less bureaucracy and more room for you to make a real impact, fast.

We believe in cultivating a welcoming, inclusive culture that encourages personal growth through hard work and enjoying the journey along the way. Launched in September 2015, our vision is backed by an incredible group of investors, including FirstMark Capital, Salesforce, Michael Dell, the Slack Fund, Emergence Capital, Thrive Capital, and Accel. As we enter our next stage of growth, we're looking for passionate people to join us.

This is a full-time position that can be performed [Remotely and/or out of our Philadelphia] office. Re-location and/or Visa Sponsorship is not included in our hiring package. Applicants will need to be authorized to work in the US and residing in a state where Guru is a registered employer.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

All are welcome here. At Guru, being inclusive is very important to us. Regardless of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identification, or background.

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us at talent@getguru.com to request accommodation.

The Opportunity

Guru is looking for a Growth Account Executive II to own a high-volume book of growth accounts, and run it with speed and precision. This role is built for someone who thrives on process and cadence rather than bespoke, high-touch relationship management.

You'll manage a larger portfolio of accounts through a repeatable renewal and expansion motion, and stay organized enough to keep pace as that portfolio shifts under you. This isn't a role for someone chasing a handful of marquee logos. It's for someone who wants to prove they can scale a book, run a system that works across volume, and build a track record that opens the door to strategic accounts down the line.

Why the Role Matters?

Every enterprise AI initiative runs into the same wall: the knowledge underneath it is fragmented, outdated, and ungoverned, so the AI hallucinates, employees stop trusting it, and their investments stall. As a Growth Account Executive II, you're the one making sure a wide swath of Guru's customer base keeps realizing that value, renewal after renewal.

The volume you manage well becomes the proof that our motion scales. The patterns you see across dozens of accounts, what renews cleanly, what needs intervention, what expands on its own, shape how we run this playbook.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit

This role is a fit if you've carried quota in a high-volume book and you're energized by the discipline that it takes, not by chasing the single biggest deal in the room. You run a tight system: your CRM is always current, you know which accounts need attention before they become a problem, and you don't let volume become an excuse for things slipping through the cracks.

You've proven you can perform in a high-volume book

  • You bring 4+ years of quota-carrying SaaS sales experience
  • You can run dozens of accounts in parallel without losing track of where each one stands
  • You're comfortable with a lighter-touch, higher-frequency cadence rather than long, bespoke sales cycles

You treat process and organization as your edge

  • You default to playbooks and repeatable motions over one-off approaches
  • You're process-driven and excited to help build the playbook that this team runs on, not just execute someone else's
  • You keep your pipeline, forecast, and account notes clean and current as a matter of habit, not an afterthought
  • You spot renewal risk early through usage signals and outreach cadence, and you act on it before it becomes a save

You make the system around you better

  • You flag what's working and what isn't in the renewals motion so the playbook keeps improving
  • You partner well with Customer Solutions Engineers and marketing to keep expansion moving without needing every touch to come from you

Bonus

  • Experience selling through AWS Marketplace or other cloud marketplaces

What You'll Actually Do

Own a high-volume, tiered growth book: Manage renewals and expansion across a large portfolio of accounts, prioritizing daily and weekly based on renewal date, usage signal, and risk.

Field scaled account maintenance: Handle ad-hoc commercial and subscription questions with urgency, and proactively manage a shared understanding of account health across your book so nothing at-risk goes unnoticed.

Run sales motions that drive expansion: Leverage product and customer data, usage patterns, growth rates, and account signals to identify, hunt, and close expansion opportunities, and develop new champions to expand usage within new teams and departments.

Run a scalable renewal motion: Execute a consistent, repeatable renewal cadence across your full book, completing dozens of renewals per month, using standard playbooks rather than building custom strategies account by account.

Spot and act on expansion signal: Identify accounts where usage data points to expansion, and run a lightweight, efficient motion to capture it without slowing down the rest of your book.

Keep the system honest: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce across your entire book, pipeline, forecast, activity, and account context, so leadership can trust the numbers at volume.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of quota-carrying SaaS sales experience
  • Proven ability to manage a large volume of accounts simultaneously with strong organizational systems
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS platforms and renewal/expansion motions
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience selling through AWS Marketplace or other cloud marketplace channels
  • Background in knowledge management, AI-powered SaaS, or enterprise productivity tools
  • Experience with tools like Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, or Pylon

The base salary compensation range for the position outlined is $111,300-$149,600, depending on location. This role reports to the Director of Sales and is classified as IC3. We believe in reasonable accommodations and are committed to enabling qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions successfully.
