We’re looking for a Product Development Engineer who’s part engineer, part inventor, and 100% ready to create the next generation of products for Hacksmith.store. • Prototype Like a Pro: 3D print, machine, assemble, and test until it’s perfect.
  • Engineer for the Real World: Integrate DFM principles so products are as easy to make as they are to use.
  • Collaborate Across the Lab: Work with our builders, machinists, and creatives to merge engineering with Hacksmith’s unique style.
  • Make it Ready for Market: Prepare technical drawings, source components, and work with manufacturing partners to take products from one-off builds to scalable production.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Hands-on prototyping ability: machining, 3D printing, assembly.
  • Knowledge of mass manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with DFM and material selection.
  • A maker’s mindset: problem - solving, iterative design, and adaptability.

Bonus Points For

  • Knowledge of electronics integration into mechanical builds.
  • Familiarity with consumer product launches or e-commerce product cycles.
  • Being a Hacksmith fan (hey, it doesn’t hurt).

Why You’ll Love It Here

This isn’t your average engineering job. You’ll work in a creative, hands-on environment where you can see your ideas go from CAD to real-life, in the hands of customers around the world. You’ll collaborate with a team that’s constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible - and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing the products you develop will inspire and excite fans everywhere.
