About the role:

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work as an embedded resource with one of the largest Utilities in the United States. This position is responsible for performing on-site commissioning of substation protection and control systems and equipment by working with relay technicians and Engineering and Design teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform and supervise functional testing of protection and control systems, relays, and high-voltage equipment
• Validate field installations against engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, recommend solutions, and direct corrective actions on-site
• Oversee the commissioning process, review and approve documentation and test results received
• Ensure all commissioning activities follow safety standards and procedures
• Diagnose and resolve equipment or system malfunctions during commissioning
• Maintain detailed records of test results, configurations, and as-built drawings
• Prepare commissioning reports and handover documentation

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years relevant Engineering experience within Substations and Commissioning processes
• Experience and expertise with substation equipment such as instrument transformers, protective relays, relay test equipment, and SCADA RTUs preferred
• High Voltage testing experience
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology required

Compensation & Benefits:

• Expected Base Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000. Compensation (i.e. Base Salary) is negotiable and shall be offered commensurate with experience
