Frontend Developer


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Developer with 2–3 years of professional experience in building responsive, high-performance web applications using React. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with backend developers working in Java and Spring Boot, and contribute to building seamless user experiences that integrate with robust enterprise APIs. This position is ideal for someone who has strong frontend skills and a basic understanding of backend architecture and services.


Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and maintain user-facing features using React, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks.

• Collaborate with backend engineers working in Java and Spring Boot to define API contracts and ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend systems.

• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into responsive, accessible, and scalable components.

• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code using modern React best practices (e.g., hooks, functional components).

• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Debug and resolve frontend issues across browsers and devices, with performance and usability in mind.

• Contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD workflows. Required Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of professional experience in frontend development with a strong focus on React.js.

• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns.

• Experience using version control systems like Git.

• Exposure to backend technologies such as Java and Spring Boot, with the ability to collaborate on end-to-end feature delivery.

• Understanding of browser behavior, performance optimization, and accessibility best practices. Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to frontend testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.

• Understanding of REST API design.

• Experience with tools such as Webpack, Vite, Postman, or Swagger. • Experience with UI frameworks like Anti or Material UI.

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $130,000-180,000. Actual compensation will be determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional/education experience, skills/abilities, internal equity, and budgetary considerations. In addition, Hammerspace offers a broad range of health plans for medical, dental, vision, life and disability. We also offer 401k plans and flexible time off.
