Supervision Over: Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraprofessionals, and direct care staff
Availability: 40 hours/week
Position Type: Full-Time
What You'll Do
As a BCBA at HANDS, you will:
- Conduct behavioral assessments (e.g., functional analyses) and skill-based assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS)
- Design and oversee individualized, evidence-based ABA treatment plans
- Supervise and train BTs, RBTs, BCaBAs, and paraprofessional staff
- Monitor treatment progress using data-driven decisions
- Provide parent/caregiver training and support
- Oversee ABA center programs and lead clinical team meetings
- Ensure clinical documentation and ethical billing practices are met
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Master’s degree (or national equivalent) in psychology, special education, ABA, or related field
- Certified as a BCBA (or QBA through QABA)
- NC licensure (or eligibility to obtain within 90 days)
- Credentialed (or credential-eligible) with commercial insurance panels
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience with ABA software platforms (e.g., CentralReach)
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, instructional methods, and ethical practice
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage crisis situations
- Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply
Required Skills & Abilities
- Analyze and respond ethically to behavioral situations and emergencies
- Communicate effectively across diverse groups (caregivers, schools, staff)
- Lead staff and supervise treatment sessions with clinical integrity
- Collect, graph, and interpret client data using digital systems
- Maintain accurate records and generate clear, actionable reports
- Lift up to 50 lbs and actively participate in client programming
Training & Compliance (Must Complete Upon Hire)
- New Staff Orientation
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (provided by agency)
- Crisis Intervention Training (Safety Care)
- HIPAA/HITECH/FERPA Training
- Practice management & data collection systems training
- Additional agency- or state-required trainings as needed
Other Requirements
- Clear criminal background check
- Negative drug screening
- Satisfactory professional references as needed
