Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative is a critical driver of Harbor Compliance's growth, responsible for identifying and qualifying high-potential opportunities within our target markets. By executing strategic outbound outreach, you will build a robust pipeline that directly impacts the company's expansion. This role is designed for a results-oriented professional who excels at engaging decision-makers and articulating the value of complex compliance solutions to secure meaningful discovery meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a high volume of strategic outreach through cold calling, emailing, and social prospecting to generate qualified sales opportunities.
  • Research and build target account lists within Harbor Compliance's ideal customer profile to fuel a consistent, self-sourced pipeline.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly targets for Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and discovery meetings scheduled.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Harbor Compliance's product suite and service offerings to effectively communicate value propositions tailored to prospect needs.
  • Document all sales activities and lead intelligence accurately within the CRM to ensure data integrity and effective pipeline management.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to refine messaging and optimize prospecting sequences for maximum conversion.
  • Conduct initial discovery conversations to assess business challenges and confirm alignment with our compliance solutions.
  • Prioritize and organize daily workflows to ensure consistent follow-up and movement of self-sourced prospects through the early stages of the sales cycle.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in an outbound sales or lead generation role, preferably within the SaaS or professional services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior-level decision-makers and navigate complex organizational structures.
  • High level of proficiency with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, and sales engagement tools like Salesloft or Outreach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into clear, persuasive messaging.
  • Strong self-motivation and a disciplined approach to hitting high-activity metrics on a daily basis.
  • Ability to handle objections professionally while maintaining a persistent, solution-oriented mindset.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with the regulatory compliance landscape or legal services industry.
  • Mastery of modern prospecting techniques, including multi-channel sequence management.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate territory performance and identify areas for strategic improvement.

Compensation: 

Harbor Compliance’s base salary range for this role is listed below. Compensation at the time of offer is based on factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of Harbor Compliance’s total compensation package. Other benefits may include health benefits, flexible paid time off, parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k), and educational reimbursement. Note that the salary range and benefits apply only to U.S.-based candidates.

The pay range for this role is:

48,000 - 60,000 USD per year (US National)
