Reports to: Regional Food & Beverage Director
Basic Purpose:
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of North End Market, ensuring exceptional guest experience, operational efficiency, and strong financial performance. This role provides hands-on leadership within a high-volume, counter-service market environment offering specialty coffee beverages, breakfast pastries, gourmet sandwiches, grab-and-go items, and beach-friendly food offerings.
The Food & Beverage Manager leads team members in delivering high-quality food and beverage products, manages inventory and scheduling, and supports revenue growth while maintaining cost control. This position plays a key role in fostering a guest-first culture while maintaining strong collaboration with hotel departments.
Organizational Scope:
The Food & Beverage Manager oversees daily operations including staffing, product quality, inventory management, ordering, and guest service. This role works closely with the Food & Beverage Director and hotel leadership to ensure the market operates efficiently while maintaining the high standards expected within a hotel environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Oversee daily market operations to ensure efficient counter-service flow, product quality, and guest satisfaction.
2. Provide hands-on leadership by assisting with barista service, sandwich preparation, food assembly, and guest service during peak periods.
3. Manage operations across multiple service categories including espresso beverages, breakfast pastries, cook-to-order items, grab-and-go offerings, and fresh food items.
4. Organize and manage staff scheduling to align labor with business demand and seasonal fluctuations.
5. Train, mentor, and develop team members on coffee preparation, food production, service standards, and hospitality.
6. Ensure all food preparation and beverage service comply with health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
7. Monitor product quality and consistency across all offerings including specialty coffee drinks, prepared foods, and dessert items.
8. Manage inventory levels and oversee ordering of food, coffee, retail, and operational supplies.
9. Monitor costs, control waste, and support profitability through effective forecasting and inventory management.
10. Conduct daily inspections of the market, equipment, and preparation areas to ensure operational readiness.
11. Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
12. Maintain accurate sales reporting, cash handling procedures, and operational documentation.
13. Coordinate special orders, large takeout orders, or small catering requests when applicable.
14. Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, discipline, and termination processes in accordance with company policy.
15. Foster a strong team culture focused on hospitality, efficiency, and collaboration with other hotel departments.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or restaurant management coursework preferred.
Experience:
1. 2–5+ years of progressive experience in a coffee shop, café, market, or quick-service food concept.
2. Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
3. Experience as a barista and familiarity with espresso-based beverage preparation required.
4. Experience with inventory management, ordering, and labor scheduling.
5. Experience in high-volume resort or tourism-driven environments preferred.
6. Experience with quick-service or counter-service food operations preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example during active service periods.
2. Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation and café operations.

Travel Required:
Limited travel for training or company meetings may be required.
Hours Required:
Forty to fifty hours per week over a five-day period; flexibility required based on business needs, seasonal volume, and special events. Evening and weekend shifts are required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to traverse all areas of the market quickly and efficiently. Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and assist with food and beverage service duties as needed.

The pay range for this role is:
