About the role

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronic Test Technician (ALTO Aviation) to join our manufacturing team. The Electronic Test Technician will play a critical role in maintaining our commitment to delivering high-performance and energy-efficient lighting solutions to our customers. If you have a passion for precision, a flair for soldering, and a dedication to creating top-notch electronic solutions, this is the opportunity for you!

 

Key Details·        

  • Work Days and Hours: Our normal working hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday-Friday with an unpaid 30-minute lunch. Employees can work with their supervisor to have some flexibility in their schedule.
  • Location: This is a full-time onsite position located in Addison, TX.
  • Compensation: Based on qualifications and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position is under Heads Up Technologies but will be working in the ALTO Aviation business unit. A new employee to the organization will be employed by ALTO Aviation.

 

What you'll do

  • Conduct Testing Procedures:

o   Perform comprehensive testing of cabin management products to ensure compliance with industry standards and engineering specifications.

o   Execute various testing procedures, including programming and acceptance test evaluation.

  • Quality Assurance:

o   Record and document test results accurately and comprehensively.

o   Implement quality control measures to identify and address potential issues during the testing process.

o   Collaborate with production cell and engineering representative to establish and refine testing protocols.

o   Analyze data to identify any deviations from quality standards and report findings to the relevant stakeholders and implement correct action to resolve nonconformance. 

  • Instrumentation and Equipment Maintenance:

o   Maintain and calibrate testing equipment regularly to ensure accurate and reliable results.

o   Troubleshoot and address any technical issues with testing instruments and engineering.

  • Documentation:

o   Maintain detailed documentation of testing processes, procedures, and results.

o   Generate reports summarizing testing outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaboration:

o   Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality control, to communicate testing requirements and results effectively.

  • Safety Compliance:

o   Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while conducting testing activities.

 

What will make you successful in this role (skills)?

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in soldering electronic components, preferably in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Familiarity with various soldering techniques, such as through-hole and surface-mount soldering.
  • Proficient in using testing equipment, soldering equipment, and tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Technical or vocational training in electronics or soldering techniques is preferred.
  • Previous experience in electronics testing or a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100/ISO9001 is desired.
