As a FNP in the Healthcare Partnership Program, you will be embedded within a business to provide direct patient care to employees and their families. This role focuses on primary, proactive, and preventive care, managing chronic conditions, and addressing acute health needs. You will work autonomously, collaborate with HealthBar’s broader healthcare team, and contribute to enhancing employee well-being through proactive health services. 

 

Job Details:  

  • Position: Family Nurse Practitioner 
  • Location: Grand Haven, MI (occasional travel to Ohio & Alabama)  
  • Schedule: Variable, primarily daytime hours

Qualifications/Certifications/Licensures: 

  • Minimum of 2 years providing care as a nurse in applicable areas such as med-surg, ER, ICU, acute care, public health, school nursing, or outpatient offices (preferred). 
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Minimum of a Masters degree in Nursing). 
  • Licensure: Current and unrestricted licensure as a RN, in the state of Michigan, Ohio and Alabama. (Required - additional licensure will be supported)
  • Certification: Active and unrestricted FNP National Board Certification from one of the following organizations: 
    • American Academy of Nurse Practitioners 
    • American Nurses Credentialing Center 
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Examiner Certification (preferred, training provided if needed). 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of employment. 

Job/Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions. 
  • Offer preventive care services such as health screenings, vaccinations, and wellness counseling. 
  • Perform medical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as necessary. 
  • Educate employees on lifestyle changes, stress management, and disease prevention. 
  • Collaborate with the business to create customized wellness initiatives that improve the overall health of the workforce. 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.

Physical Requirements & Additional Information:  

  • Overtime Expectations: No overtime is expected. Regularly working above and beyond expected hours should be discussed with a coordinator, manager, or HR to address potential delegation or changes to compensation. 
  • Work Environment: This role typically involves working in an office environment, with potential exposure to clinical and manufacturing settings. Regular use of medical equipment and technology is required. 
  • Physical Factors: Includes sitting, standing, walking, squatting, reaching, lifting, and bending. 
  • Travel Requirements: Travel may be required, with frequency and associated expenses or benefits to be discussed. 
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Rotating on-call duties for virtual and phone coverage in the evenings and weekends, required between the hours of 7am-9pm, excluding major holidays may be required.
