Position Overview

Health Bridge is seeking a California licensed, motivated Dentist to join our team through a structured two-phase engagement. You'll begin in a remote tele-dentistry role, conducting virtual Denti-Cal assessments and supporting patients across California, while completing the credentialing process required for our in-person clinical site. Once credentialing is complete (typically 6–8 weeks), you'll transition to an in-person clinical role at our South Los Angeles partner site, providing comprehensive dental care with a primary focus on pediatric patients and an expectation of treating adults within your scope of practice.

Phase 1: Remote Tele-dentistry (Onboarding Period)

While credentialing for the in-person site is finalized, you will:

  • Conduct synchronous tele-dentistry assessments in compliance with Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal guidelines
  • Oversee and confirm that dental assistants follow proper oral health assessment procedures
  • Review intraoral images captured during visits to ensure clinical quality
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene instruction and preventive care recommendations
  • Document detailed, accurate clinical notes for each patient encounter
  • Deliver patient education and care with empathy, professionalism, and clarity

Note: This phase is fully remote and does not include hands-on procedures.

Phase 2: In-Person Clinical Care (South Los Angeles)

Once onboarded to the clinical site, you will provide patient-centered, culturally responsive dental care, with services including:

Pediatric Dental Services (Primary)

  • Comprehensive and periodic oral exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning for pediatric patients
  • Preventive care: prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, sealants, oral hygiene instruction
  • Restorative care: composite/amalgam restorations, stainless steel crowns (SSC)
  • Pulp therapy (pulpotomy, pulpectomy) and space maintainers, within clinical privileges
  • Screening for oral developmental concerns and appropriate referral

Adult Dental Services (As Required)

  • Comprehensive exams, diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative care for adults
  • Preventive services including SRPs and periodontal maintenance
  • Extractions, crowns, restorations, and dentures
  • Urgent and emergency dental care for pediatric and adult patients

Cross-Population Responsibilities

  • Interpretation and documentation of clinical radiographs
  • Prescribing medications within license, privileges, and applicable law
  • Referrals to specialists (orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, etc.)
  • Care coordination with medical, behavioral health, and integrated care team members
  • Timely, accurate documentation in the clinic's EHR system
  • Compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement protocols
  • Participation in peer review, quality assurance, and utilization review activities

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Education

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
  • Active, unrestricted California Dental License in good standing, with no disciplinary history
  • Active enrollment as a Denti-Cal (Medi-Cal Dental) provider

Note: We will not be able to move forward with your application if you are not enrolled in Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal or have an active Medical Dental License

Certifications & Registrations

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Active DEA registration
  • CURES registration (required if prescribing controlled substances)
  • Proof of completion of 50 CE credits for license renewal
  • Active professional liability (malpractice) insurance
  • Up-to-date vaccine records (required for credentialing)

Clinical & Operational

  • Demonstrated competence treating pediatric dental patients (children and adolescents)
  • Ability to provide general dental services to adults within license scope
  • Ability to perform urgent/emergency dental care
  • Comfortable in a fully remote environment during Phase 1; able to work in-person at the LA clinic during Phase 2 (remote work not applicable once transitioned)
  • Eligible for FQHC credentialing/privileging per HRSA requirements
  • Not excluded, debarred, or sanctioned from federal health care programs (verified via OIG LEIE and SAM.gov)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated alignment with our core values
