Job Summary
The Utility Scale Project Developer role is responsible for the development, planning, and execution of large-scale energy projects from greenfield to NTP. Additionally, this role will support budgets, interconnection studies, permitting, site negotiation, etc.  


Duties/Responsibilities: 

This candidate must be located in the Midwest or South Eastern area
  • Manage budget, schedules, and work documents ensuring efficient and timely execution
  • Communicate resource requirements to senior management; participate in contract review. 
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of project agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and interconnection agreements.
  • Identify new large scale development opportunities in the Southeastern/Midwest area and ensure development milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Specialists to ensure compliance with environmental, zoning, and permitting requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support project progression and resolve issues.
  • Assist in financial modeling and analysis to evaluate project economics, including cost estimation, revenue forecasts, and return on investment calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project developers, engineers, regulatory specialists, and senior management to align development strategies with project goals.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant project development work experience 
  •  Proven track record of managing large-scale energy projects from concept to execution.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Utility negotiation experience 
  • Preferably knowledge of geographic information systems, such as Shape files, ArcGis, QGIS, preferably experience with renewable energy design software.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes, permitting requirements, and environmental compliance in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, present findings, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

 
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.  Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
 
Travel Requirements:
Some travel is required. 

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 150,000 USD per year (US - NC - Huntersville)
