Job description

Are you an experienced appliance repair technician who loves being the hero? Are you interested in joining a very professional crew? You will be an essential team member, and we will do all we can to put you in a position to succeed at your job and love your career.

We are currently offering a hiring bonus of $2500 to technicians with refrigeration experience or $1000 to other experienced applicants, paid in 3 installments over the first year of service. Pay is a mix of hourly pay, commissions, and bonuses and ranges from $66,0000 to $104,000. With hard work, exceptional candidates can earn more than the top end of this range.

You will not be thrown directly to the wolves. Hometown Hero Appliance Repair is a multimillion-dollar outfit headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska with over 30 years of experience in appliance repair. Over the last two years, at the personal request of manufacturers like Samsung and Sub-Zero, we have successfully expanded to multiple areas, and we will use our experience to ensure our new techs get the support they need, including:

• Additional training
• A steady supply of jobs when you’re ready
• A branded truck and uniform
• A fraternity of other experienced techs to call on when needed
• And an on-call leadership team to provide support but will respect your experience and discretion in the field

We have partnered with Samsung to be their Branded Engineers in multiple areas, and we also have similar authorizations from many other household brands. All new hires will receive a full training regimen to deepen their skillset, and they will attend a 3-day in-person course at Samsung’s state-of-the-art training facility in Chicago or New Jersey.

• Experience repairing major appliances in a customer's home
• Positive, upbeat, outgoing attitude
• Mechanical ability, scoring at least 70% on a mechanical aptitude test
• Willingness to study and learn independently
• Ability to learn from mistakes and build your knowledge base
• Careful and defensive driver - driver's license required
• Ability to follow procedures and policies correctly
• Must be able to routinely lift 15-30 lbs and move home appliances in excess of 200 lbs for service in customers' homes
• Comfort dealing with customers in a residential setting and addressing their concerns
• Availability to work our schedule, which is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm approximately, with optional Saturday hours
• Able to embrace our core values: Trusted, Helpful, Efficient, Reliable, and Knowledgeable
• EPA certification and experience in refrigeration is an added benefit but not necessary
