Data Validation Specialist

Highwire, a Veriforce company, is the Contractor Success Platform for asset owners, general contractors, and facilities managers. The world’s most admired organizations — including Skanska, Merck, and Bond Brothers — use Highwire to ensure their contractors and subcontractors deliver great work, on budget and on schedule, by collaborating with them to dynamically mitigate safety, financial, quality, and sustainability risks during capital projects and facilities maintenance.

To support our growing client base and ensure the integrity of financial and safety information in our platform, we’re hiring a Data Validation Specialist. This role is key to reviewing contractor-submitted documentation and ensuring it’s entered with precision and care. If you’re comfortable navigating financial statements and thrive in structured, detail-heavy work, this is your chance to make a big impact behind the scenes.

Your mission:

As a Data Validation Specialist, you’ll review safety and financial documents submitted by contractors, including income statements, balance sheets, and insurance forms, and ensure the right information is captured and entered into the Highwire platform. Your work helps power accurate financial and safety scores, which our clients rely on to make critical decisions.

What you'll do:

  • Review and validate key data from contractor-submitted documents — including safety records, insurance forms, and financial summaries — and enter that information accurately into the Highwire platform.
  • Complete tasks on tight deadlines by reviewing and validating safety and financial data submissions quickly and thoroughly — ensuring time-sensitive items are completed within 24 to 48 hours, depending on priority.
  • Take ownership of repeatable quality checks that ensure submitted documents meet our standards — helping reduce bottlenecks for the broader support team and ensuring consistent data quality across the board.
  • Spot and resolve data inconsistencies by investigating errors, documenting what was changed and why, and flagging any ambiguous items for further review. This safeguard ensures that the data our clients see is accurate and auditable.

Who you are:

  • Financially literate. You’re comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements like income statements, balance sheets, and supporting documentation. You know when the numbers don’t add up and how to dig into the “why.”
  • Detail-Oriented. You notice subtle inconsistencies in forms and documents and never make assumptions when data is unclear.
  • Communicative Collaborator. You write clear profile notes, share context with teammates, and keep others in the loop when blockers or patterns arise.
  • Trustworthy. You handle sensitive contractor data with care, follow compliance protocols, and document decisions transparently.
  • Technically Fluent. You’re confident using PDFs, spreadsheets, and browser tools, and you adapt quickly to new systems and workflows.

Attention to detail is a critical competency for success in this role. To help us identify candidates who read thoroughly, you’ll see a mystery question during the application process. The correct answer is: attention to detail.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance — whether through previous work experience, internships, or academic study. Or, you may simply be someone who’s confident reading and interpreting financial statements. We’re looking for someone who enjoys structured, detail-focused work and wants to make a real impact behind the scenes on a fast-moving, collaborative team.

Benefits:

Our benefits go well beyond the basics. To support your work-life integration, we built a benefits program that takes care of the whole person, including physical, mental, financial, and emotional health.

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance to all full-time employees. Best part? You’ll be eligible on day one.
  • 401k. We offer a 401k and a 3% company contribution (even better than a match) to help you get ready to retire no matter how far off that seems.
  • Parental leave. We take care of new parents by offering paid time off for births, adoptions, and fostering.
