Home Life is a private, non-profit organization in Corvallis, Oregon, that provides safe, integrated community living services. We empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by offering support that enhances their quality of life.



This schedule requires staff to be available Monday through Friday between 8:00a and 2:00p. Start and end times will vary within this timeframe, with a guaranteed 20 hours per week.

Position: Job Coach

Reports to: Vocational Services Program Manager

Job Summary:

Job Coaches will provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within

integrated community employment. Job Coaches may also assist with pre-employment skill development

programs.


Minimum Qualifications:

Eligibility for Employment

● Ability to pass an initial criminal history check from the Department of Human Services Criminal Records Unit and recheck every 2 years after.

● Be a citizen of the United States or legally able to work in the United States

● Must be at least eighteen years old and hold a current driving license, insurance, and a good driving record.

● Ability to complete required training and annual training thereafter.

● The ability to maintain regular attendance and to perform tasks outlined in this description (with or without a reasonable accommodation) is an essential function of this position.

Abilities

● Must feel comfortable providing transportation to individuals in Home Life vehicles.

● Ability to support individuals to maintain and be successful in employment.

● Demonstrate by background, education, references, skills, and abilities, the employment professional is capable of safely and adequately performing the tasks to support an individual's Service Agreement or ISP and CDP including, but not limited to, all of the following:

● Ability and sufficient education to follow oral and written instructions and keep any records required.

● Responsibility, maturity, and reputable character exercising sound judgment.

● Ability to communicate with the supported individual.

● Training of a nature and type sufficient to ensure the employment professional has knowledge of emergency procedures specific to the individual receiving services.

● Ability to perform basic computer and mobile operating skills.

● Ability to perform tasks outlined in this description (with or without a reasonable accommodation) is an essential function of this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.

● Prior experience is not required but preferred.

● Experience working with and/or supporting individuals supported employment or vocational-related work.

● Knowledge of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Developmental Disability Supported Employment systems and Individual Support Plans (ISPs).

● Prior work history experience, especially in a variety of settings.

General Responsibilities

Overall Expectations:

1. The Home Life Vocational Job Coach is responsible for supporting individuals in a variety of

employment-related settings.

2. The Job Coach reports directly to the Vocational Program Manager, while in collaboration with the Lead Job Coach and Job Developer(s).

3. Work as a team with the other Job Coaches in Home Life’s Vocational Program to ensure the best quality and consistency of services are provided.

4. Job Coaches should understand that working hours may fluctuate based on the scheduling needs of the clients. Routinely check When To Work for schedule and updates.

5. Assure proper documentation of progress, changes to their job duties, overall independence, and any other individual support needs in Therap.

6. Adhere to all policies, rules, and procedures of Home Life and the Vocational Program, while being mindful of different professional guidelines within job assignments.

7. Attend and participate in staff meetings.

8. Must complete Workday DSP and EP Modules; completing JPSCT (Job Placement Service Contract Training) and Discovery training is encouraged.


Health and Safety:

1. Assure that supported individuals’ confidentiality is maintained.

2. Assure that supported individuals’ GERs are completed when the need arises, according to instructions provided.

3. Respond appropriately to the posted Emergency Preparedness Plan.

4. Follow all safety plans and protocols.

5. Maintain familiarity with OSHA and Safety & Sanitation policies of the businesses where we provide support.


Support Services:

1. Support individuals with on-the-job training and communication as needed.

2. Support individuals with job readiness and employment path skills.

3. Assure that supported individuals’ schedules are followed and that supported individuals are present for scheduled activities.

4. Read Therap T-Log entries daily.

5. Assure that all supported individuals’ employment supports are being met as outlined in the individual’s ISP action plan and they are making progress towards goals.


Misc. and Other Duties as Assigned:

1. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager, and Services Coordinator, such as assisting with Employment Path or Discovery.

2. Job coaches are expected to assist with office maintenance and organization.


Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

● The physical effort typically required in this job includes but is not limited to, being on feet for extended time, working outdoors and indoors, keying/typing, pushing, and pulling. There may be lifting up to 50 lbs., and behavior supports up to applying physical holds (as per Oregon Intervention System OIS instruction) and other duties as needed with or without reasonable accommodation.


The pay range for this role is:

19.25 - 20.38 USD per hour (Main office)
