Restaurants across North America use Hostie to ensure no guest goes unanswered while giving their teams more time to focus on hospitality.


Hostie integrates with platforms like OpenTable, Toast, and SevenRooms and is backed by Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI fund), Obvious Ventures (founded by Ev Williams), and leading hospitality investors.


This is a founder’s office role designed for someone who wants to experience what it’s like to build a company from the ground up. You will work directly with the CEO and Leadership Team as well as our investors and operators to lead important initiatives at the company, spanning strategy, product, GTM, partnerships, and fundraising.


The Chief of Staff acts as a force multiplier for the Leadership Team, helping turn ideas into execution, ensuring the organization stays aligned as we grow, and jumping on some of the company’s most pressing issues in a very fast paced environment.


What You’ll Work On

Projects will vary depending on company priorities, but may include:


Company Strategy

  • Partner with the Leadership Team on defining priorities, strategic initiatives, and company planning
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and business case development to inform growth decisions
  • Project manage cross-functional initiatives sourced from the CEO and customer feedback, by defining scope, owners, and timelines
  • Create and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, and KPI frameworks to track business performance


Go To Market

  • Work with the sales and customer success teams to develop new expansion strategies
  • Iterate on standardized GTM playbooks to continuously sharpening how we plan and execute launches


Product & Operations

  • Work with product and engineering to identify operational improvements
  • Translate customer feedback into product insights


Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Assist with investor communications and board materials
  • Support strategic fundraising initiatives


Who This Role Is Ideal For

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast paced environments and wants to learn how startups scale from the inside.

Ideal candidates may come from:

  • Top MBA programs (HBS, GSB, Wharton, Haas, Sloan, etc.)
  • Consulting or investment banking backgrounds
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving environments

You likely have:

  • Exceptional curiosity and grit
  • Strong communication and writing ability
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity
  • A bias toward action and ownership
