About the role

The Accounting Manager is an important leadership role within the finance team and will own all aspects of our US financial operations and reporting.  This role reports to HqO’s Controller, and will have outsized business impact by providing timely, accurate and comprehensive information across the company, and to our auditors.  With responsibility touching every area of finance and accounting, this is a hands on and high visibility role within a small entrepreneurial team.

What you'll do

  • Improve our month end close process for speed, quality and detail to industry standard

  • Own Netsuite and reporting, including the consolidation of our international entities, ensuring complete and accurate information, and controls

  • Lead the invoicing and collection process, soliciting support where needed and defining and taking responsibility for cash collection success

  • Manage annual audits and tax filings. Work closely with the Controller to ensure compliance across all entities

  • Support the establishment and enhancement of a strong internal control environment

  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis for new accounting guidance or business transactions

  • Collaborate with FP&A on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Leverage process and technology to continually improve team efficiency

  • Oversee junior team members and contractors, growing their capabilities and contributions

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • 6+ years of experience in an accounting role, including multiple years at a fast paced operating company.  real estate or software experience preferred, 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and stay organized while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with varied teams, ideally with international experience

  • Robust analytical skills, effective problem solving and attention to detail

  • Strong business sense and understanding of how accounting supports company results

  • Resourcefulness and the ability to challenge the status quo and separate good from perfect

  • Netsuite experience
