Description

We are looking for a Technical Artist to join our Immersive Solutions team and help us build “EMPACT-ful” and exciting VR (Virtual Reality) training experiences for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. This position primarily focuses on high quality 3D environments and assets for virtual training with our EMPACT Immersive Learning Platform. This role involves collaboration with a versatile team of 3D Artists, Gameplay Engineers, and Technical Artists. You will operate in a dynamic, agile environment with the opportunity to expand your knowledge of immersive content development and work on many different types of projects.



Responsibilities

  • Perform technical tasks as part of the art pipeline including material creation, UV/light mapping, LOD generation, and regular optimization passes
  • Lighting mobile environments in Unreal Engine 4
  • Develop tools and research workflow improvements that aid the team with content creation
  • Defining and enforcing project standards and best practices
  • Routine mobile performance profiling
  • Model and texture high-fidelity, optimized 3D game assets for use in mobile VR experiences
  • Create basic in-game interactions and behaviors using Unreal Engine’s Blueprint visual scripting language
  • Providing and receiving constructive input


Skills

  • Experience with Unreal Engine’s Material Editor and/or Blueprint System
  • Experience with 3D software: Maya, 3DS Max, or Blender
  • Experience with Substance Painter and Photoshop
  • Experience with version control systems: Perforce, Git, or Plastic SCM
  • Experience with mobile game development and performance profiling is preferred
  • 1-2 years of AAA experience or game studio development preferred


Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience working on 3D environments for games
  • Familiarity with VR/AR and/or Serious Games
  • Strong portfolio showcasing environments/simulations for games or other real-time experiences
  • Shows initiative and is a problem-solver
  • Flexible and focused while multitasking
  • Great communication skills in fast-paced remote work environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US



This is a contract-to-hire position.
