About the role

• This role is part of a team supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs focused on the user experience, security, reliability, and performance of VA digital platforms.
• Specifically targeting the following initiatives:
• • Enhance accessibility for veterans navigating VA services.
  • Streamline digital processes and reduce complexity for end users.
  • Incorporate innovative technologies that improve the overall performance of VA’s systems.

What you'll do

• Design, build, train, and deploy AI models that address complex business challenges and drive innovation.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product managers to translate business requirements into robust and scalable AI applications.
• Daily activities will involve data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and performance evaluation. 
• Contribute to the development of AI infrastructure and tools, ensuring efficiency and reliability. 
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field, research new techniques, and experiment with emerging technologies. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
• This role requires a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles. 
• Six years minimum of experience developing and shipping AI/ML solutions.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance from the U.S. Government
• Specific Skills:
• • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). 
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Familiarity with MLOps tools and platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow) for model deployment and monitoring. 
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools for automated model deployment and testing. 
  • Experience with data processing pipelines using tools like Apache Spark or Databricks. 
  • Experience with data visualization and exploratory data analysis.
