About the Role
Over the past several years the Army has established a robust Financial Improvement Program (FIP) focusing in the areas of Accountability, Risk Management, Financial Reporting, and Audit Remediation that encompasses all Army Major Commands and crosses numerous functional components including service provider interface and coordination. The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Operations & Information (ODASA-FOI) administers the monitoring and execution of the Army’s Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC), Financial Reporting, and Audit programs. The program has matured from a “Discovery” phase to its current phase as an audit response, remediation, and sustainment-centric program. The financial environment and related key internal controls are thoroughly tested for effectiveness, reliability, and sustainability. These efforts require a substantial investment in time and resources to assist the Army, its Commands and service providers to achieve its overall goal of creating a financial environment that is accurate, reliable, timely and auditable.
What You'll Do
In this role, your objective is to improve the completeness, accuracy, reliability and timeliness of Army financial data and information. To do so, you will:
- Support the performance of business process risk assessments and establishment of an effective financial internal control environment, processes and procedures
- Support improved production of Army’s annual and quarterly Financial Statements and footnotes in concert with evolved business processes and controls
- Support modernization of client capabilities through innovative technologies applied to business processes
- Support strategic alignment of task areas to client's priorities
Job Requirements
- Solid experience working with one or more of the following:
- accounting, auditing, and/or internal controls over PP&E
- data engineering and/or analytics of large financial datasets
- Credentials (one of the following)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or field directly related to the position
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science
- Certification issued by appropriate licensing authority: CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL (must be current and active)
- Years of Experience: 7 years of experience with Federal financial management AND 3 years of Federal accounting experience. Commercial experience may be considered in lieu of Federal financial management and federal accounting on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Direct experience with Real Property and/or General Equipment at a DoW Agency
- Ability to leverage data tools/tech (e.g. but not limited to SQL, Python, Databricks, Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.) in your daily work
- Intrinsic curiosity for using LLMs / GenAI tools for work or personal productivity

The pay range for this role is:
73,000 - 93,000 USD per year (Hybrid (Washington, District of Columbia, US))
