Position Summary
The Business/Product Analyst will primarily support product managers by writing and enhancing the quality of user stories, prioritizing tickets, and ensuring requirements are clear, actionable, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare workflows, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management Support
- Collaborate with product managers to refine and improve user stories, ensuring they are clear, concise, and actionable
- Review tickets for clarity, completeness, and alignment with product vision before they enter development cycles
- Assist in backlog refinement by analyzing tickets for dependencies, risks, and business value
- Create and maintain documentation templates that standardize user story format and quality
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of user stories before they are presented to development teams
Requirements Analysis & Documentation
- Transform business requirements into detailed functional specifications that development teams can implement
- Define acceptance criteria that are measurable, testable, and aligned with user needs
- Document edge cases, business rules, and technical constraints to reduce ambiguity
- Create and maintain workflow diagrams, user journey maps, and process flows to visualize requirements
- Identify and resolve requirement inconsistencies or gaps before development begins
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with product managers and stakeholders.
- Translate clinical and administrative workflows into technical requirements
- Serve as a liaison between clinical subject matter experts and the product team
- Document and communicate stakeholder feedback to inform product improvements
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their needs are accurately represented
Quality Assurance
- Partner with other departments in helping support the creation of test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria
- Verify that implemented solutions align with the original business requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to the requirements gathering and user story creation processes
- Stay current on healthcare industry trends and regulatory requirements that impact the EHR/PM system
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned
- Develop and share best practices for requirements documentation and ticket management
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, or related field
- 2-3+ years of experience as a business analyst, product analyst, or similar role in healthcare technology
- Strong understanding of EHR/PM systems and healthcare workflows
- Experience with requirements gathering, user story writing, and acceptance criteria definition
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with project management and ticketing systems (e.g Jira)
- Experience using AI tools (Chatgpt, etc) and prompt engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
Preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, 21st Century Cures Act) is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL and database concepts is a plus.
- Scrum certification (CSM, CSPO) is a plus but not required.
