About the Role


Sellers Dorsey is seeking a new Associate Director, Events & Association Partnerships who will play a strategic and hands‑on role in advancing Sellers Dorsey’s presence across industry events, conferences, and association partnerships. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this position leads the planning, execution, and optimization of the company’s event strategy while managing key relationships with national and state‑level associations. The Associate Director will oversee a small team responsible for event logistics, sponsorship deliverables, and partner engagement, ensuring that all activities align with the company’s brand, business goals, and thought leadership priorities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Execution: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive event strategy that supports brand visibility, business development goals, and thought leadership initiatives. Oversee the planning and execution of conferences, sponsorships, webinars, and hosted events, ensuring seamless logistics, high‑quality experiences, and alignment with company priorities. Partner with internal teams to coordinate speakers, content, and materials that elevate the company’s presence and impact.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Supervise and mentor direct reports responsible for event logistics, partner coordination, and administrative support. Foster a collaborative, high performing team environment with a focus on professional development and operational excellence. Work closely with marketing, business development, and executive leadership to align event and partnership activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Association & Industry Partnerships: Manage relationships with key national and state associations, serving as the primary point of contact for partnership opportunities, sponsorship negotiations, and collaborative initiatives. Evaluate and recommend association engagements that advance the company’s strategic objectives. Ensure that partnership commitments are fulfilled and that Sellers Dorsey is represented consistently and effectively across all partner platforms.
  • Measurement, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Develop and maintain processes for tracking event performance, partnership ROI, and engagement outcomes. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership and recommend enhancements that strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the events and partnerships program.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. MBA is preferred but not required.
  • 7+ years of experience in event management, association partnerships, marketing, or related fields (healthcare or B2B experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated success managing conferences, sponsorships, and partner relationships at a corporate or organizational level.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functional areas, building strong, productive relationships with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior leaders to align event and partnership activities with organizational goals.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff, with the ability to lead and develop a small team.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management platforms (Asana, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • Experience with event technology platforms (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, virtual event tools) preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation systems preferred.
  • Background in health policy, Medicaid, or healthcare associations preferred.

Compensation & Benefits 


The anticipated salary range for candidates is $116,000/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $140,000/year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 10% of annual salary. 


Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements.  Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time off, including an employee’s eligibility therefore, will be controlled by applicable plan documents and Sellers Dorsey policy.
