Our recruiting practice collaborates with practice leaders to develop, refine, and bring new products and services to the market, identifying potential targets for acquisitions and leveraging policy and healthcare expertise to create new solutions and needs for the Firm. They support a portfolio involving financial and policy initiatives connected to supplemental payment projects in the Medicaid Financing and Strategic Consulting portfolio. They focus on Georgia state practice, and work on engagements from program design to implementation, collaborating with clients and team members on initiatives in Medicaid financing, managed care, and provider policy and reimbursement.

About the Role

Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Consultant who will work from our Atlanta Office (Hybrid) and support the GA State Director, Associate Directors and Senior Consultants in ensuring the timely and effective delivery of consulting services in areas such as Medicaid financing and revenue maximization. This position is involved in day-to-day interactions with state government officials, executive level hospital administrators and Administrative Staff to manage client deliverables.  Consultants provide project management services to client teams and are responsible for direct service delivery and client satisfaction.  
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Draft project deliverables, maintain project records and prepare for internal and external meetings as directed by the Director, Associate Director, and/or Senior Consultant.
  • Maintain and organize client deliverables and project timelines in an accessible shared drive for all team members.
  • Depending upon specific areas of expertise, assume increasing levels of responsibility on a diverse range of projects and project tasks; develop consulting expertise that can be replicated in future projects.
  • Assist with the design and/or implementation of evaluations and assessments (e.g., survey development, conducting stakeholder interviews, focus groups or site visits).
  • Prepare for and participate in both internal team and external client meetings, as requested.
  • Work with Directors, Associate Directors, and Senior Consultants concurrently and manage time effectively.
  • Conduct research and literature reviews using appropriate industry publications and databases; analyze findings that confirm the application of various healthcare policies, programs and technology.
  • Responsible for keeping current on the changing federal regulatory environment, learning state specific regulations to support assigned projects, and staying current on state/industry trends.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis including development of written summaries.
  • Assist with meeting, conference, panel, hearing, etc. planning and coordination.
  • Anticipate client and project needs and communicate to the team for resolution.
  • Achieve personal performance goals across multiple projects and clients. Develop relationships/mentorships with others in the firm.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree).
  • 3-7 years in a public healthcare policy administration role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry; or 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting and/or in a service delivery environment.
  • Experience with Medicaid preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Other Requirements
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including ability to produce concise summaries of technical material and develop client deliverables.
  • Demonstrated secondary research skills including knowledge of major publicly-available resources useful to background research for Medicaid and other healthcare programs.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Highly efficient, flexible, and motivate.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to interact professionally with team members and clients.
  • Detail oriented, with experience organizing and coordinating the work of others. Previous project and task management experience is strongly desired.
  • Ability to be an active listener in meetings and discussions with clients, strategic partners and fellow employees.
Compensation & Benefits 

The anticipated salary range for candidates is $68,700/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $103,000/year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 7% of annual salary. 

Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements.  Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid parental and bonding leave.
