About the role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data solutions on Azure. The role involves working with diverse data sources, enabling efficient data processing, and supporting analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering concepts, hands-on experience with Azure data services, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Essential Functions
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
- Integrate and manage data from multiple sources, including SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based storage systems
- Work with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions
- Implement secure data access using Azure security features, including Managed Identity
- Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring high system performance and reliability
- Contribute to Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning and stand-ups
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Developer
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data warehousing
- Hands-on experience with Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks)
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Programming experience in Python, Scala, or C#
- Experience working with data sources such as Azure Cosmos DB, Data Lake, and Blob Storage
- Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
- Understanding of Azure security concepts, including Managed Identity
- Basic knowledge of data modeling and API-based data integration
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting
- Familiarity with real-time data processing tools such as Azure Stream Analytics
- Experience with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
- Hands-on experience implementing Managed Identity across Azure services
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
- Experience working with Microsoft CRM/CE applications
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP-900, DP-203)
