Director of Corporate Development and Strategy

Incline Insurance Group is looking for a strategic and results-driven professional to join our Risk and Strategy team.  In this high-impact role, you will help drive the development and expansion of our innovative property and casualty insurance programs while gaining exposure to a broad range of strategic initiatives and risk management activities.  As a key partner to senior leaders across underwriting, actuarial and finance, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Incline’s business.  This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a growing organization and make a lasting impact in the insurance industry.

What You'll Do:
The Director of Corporate Development & Strategy will play a key role in developing and executing initiatives that shape the company’s long-term growth. This position will focus on evaluating new products and services, mergers and acquisitions, and competitive market dynamics. Additionally, the role will support business development efforts through in-depth research on competitors, insurance industry trends, and strategic partnerships.

  • Business Strategy: Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives that drive the overall growth and success of the organization.  Lead analysis of market trends and identify opportunities for expansion, innovation, and profitability.
  • Partnership Opportunities: Work directly with the executive team to refine and evaluate new programs for potential inclusion in Incline’s portfolio.
  • Research & Due Diligence: Conduct market research and due diligence on potential investments or strategic initiatives, providing actionable insights that support business growth.
  • Financial Models & Valuations: Build operating and financial models and conduct valuation analyses for new programs and strategic investments.  Oversee due diligence efforts for potential M&A transactions.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Prepare and present recommendations to senior leadership based on competitive analysis, industry insights, and business objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and monitor key metrics to assess overall portfolio performance, including reinsurance strategies and concentration risks.

 

What We’re Looking For:
We are seeing a strategic, analytical leader with exceptional financial modeling skills and a passion for driving high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced environment.  The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a small team setting, can manage multiple priorities effectively, and brings a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience: 8+ years in corporate development, strategy, investment banking, consulting, private equity, credit, or related fields.  Insurance experience preferred. 
  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and competitive analysis.  Strong analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of industry trends and market expansion strategies.  Ability to convey and synthesize complex business issues for decision-making purposes.
  • Leadership & Execution: Proven track record of leading M&A transactions and driving strategic initiatives from inception to execution.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent stakeholder management, writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
  • Mindset: Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.


Location:

This role is based in Austin, TX and operates within a hybrid work model.  Due to the highly collaborative nature of this position, regular in-office presence is required.
