Incline P&C Group is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the business development and program management of their Underwriting function. 

 

Business Development

  • Lead business development for new programs to drive highly qualified E&S programs seeking a best in class fronting carrier.
  • Oversee due diligence review of new programs.  Coordinate effort between departments to examine all facets of the MGA to ensure best in class programs are selected for the portfolio.
  • Skillfully negotiate terms of MGA contracts alongside legal department for new programs and amendments as needed for renewal programs.
  • Work alongside Director of Ceded Reinsurance to place quota share and excess of loss reinsurance agreements for new and renewing programs.


Program Management

  • Develop and implement a management plan tailored to each assigned Program and conduct regular meetings with MGA to ensure production and profitability goals are met.
  • Work with actuarial team to monitor written premiums and loss ratios and coordinate rate, form, rule filings with the MGA to ensure program is maintaining target loss ratios.
  • Work alongside Program Underwriters to conduct underwriting file reviews of assigned MGA’s to ensure guidelines are followed and risk selection, pricing and form usage by MGA is appropriate.  Review reports completed by regulatory audit team.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years of commercial lines or personal lines underwriting or operations experience in excess and surplus lines business.
  • CPCU, CIC or AU designations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Reinsurance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate in difficult situations.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, regulatory, or financial challenges and analyze available information to make timely decisions in alignment with our risk appetite.
