NLP Engineer (Senior)

Infinitus is automating routine tedious administrative work for healthcare workers. Tens of millions of Americans are under medical debt, and over half of healthcare workers are concerned about burnout. About the role: 


We are in search of a Senior NLP Engineer to help own, drive, and design our automation systems. We are scaling our end to end phone call automation with an increasing number of customers and a diverse set of tasks that our AI Agent will handle. This is an opportunity to apply your strategic AI thinking for solution development, mentor, guide and influence teams of engineers and do impactful hands-on work to produce direct customer and business impact. 


Competencies


  • Has delivered, scaled and maintained a successful AI product in industry.
  • Has a practical, data-driven mindset towards AI approaches. Is able to stay up to date with the latest models and make decisions that consider practical implications including time, compute, robustness, and fairness.
  • Has led and built alignment on teams of engineers, data scientists, ML researchers, etc. on technical design, and implementation. 
  • Has shown entrepreneurial spirit (e.g. worked at an early stage startup, or has started and delivered on a new product from the ground-up). 
  • Is able to prioritize and scope development from a business and product perspective.
  • Has led technical excellence efforts, and can think through best practices for productionized ML systems.
  • Is a prolific individual contributor, who role models developing quality software, technical design, and end to end ownership.
  • Great cross functional communicator, who partners with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand the needs of our users and build a product that serves those needs. 
  • Contribute to the short and long term roadmaps, and make effective tradeoffs between impact, user experience, and a high-quality technical foundation. 
  • Improve the team and company - be an active participant in our culture (hiring, mentoring, new initiatives).

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 5 years of hands-on engineering experience, with demonstrated growth
  • 2 years of experience working in applied AI or NLP in practical, industry settings
  • Experience building and scaling end to end ML models and pipelines in production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept through completion
  • Expertise in Python
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Undergrad, Masters, or equivalent coursework in ML or NLP
  • Curiosity to continue to learn and stay up to date on machine learning, engineering and infrastructure technologies
