About the role

Description

The Managing UX/UI Designer will work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to understand complex user needs, design intuitive platform experiences that address those needs, and deliver design solutions that delight stakeholders within and beyond the organization. In this position, you will be the primary designer of our new teacher-facing curricular platform as well as the internal tooling surrounding its content management. This is an exciting opportunity to imagine and bring to life the full experience of a new curriculum product that will support educational change nationwide. 

In addition to the design responsibilities of this role, you will manage another UX/UI designer whose work is focused on maintaining and enhancing our existing platforms. As the manager of this quickly-growing UX/UI arm of the Product team, you will help to shape and maintain best practices within the Product Management / Design / Engineering trio in terms of communication, documentation, and workflow management. 

Requirements
  • 5+ years leading the UX/UI design of web technology used by teachers 

  • 2+ years experience in a management role

  • Experience triangulating design needs in collaboration with a Product Manager and Engineering team within an Agile methodology

  • Fluent in Figma for hifi mockups and prototyping

  • Strong understanding of and ability to incorporate accessibility into your work, including 508 compliance and WCAG 2.1 AA

  • Deep empathy for K–12 teachers

  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills

The base compensation range for this role is $100,000-120,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a full benefits package. This compensation range and title may be adjusted based on actual experience.

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
