Position Overview:

 

Inseego is seeking an Indirect Buyer. The Indirect Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of indirect categories including software, MRO (Maintenance, Repairs & Operations), consumables, capital, marketing, and facilities-related services. This position requires strong communication skills, including the preparation of materials for executive management review. The role will work closely with internal customers and suppliers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day supplier relationships.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate activities related to the procurement function. Work with vendors to maintain and/or improve service levels as required.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; proactively seek and evaluate new qualified suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct market research, supplier analysis, and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive cost reductions with suppliers to support company goals.
  • Conduct new supplier setups.
  • Create inbound shipment documentation for receiving.
  • Work closely with suppliers to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Lead competitive bidding and pricing processes. Review bids and proposals for competitive cost, quality, and compliance with facility/customer specification requirements.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Payable department and internal customers to ensure timely supplier payments and resolution of PO variances.
  • Maintain a system to evaluate supplier quotations using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
  • Troubleshoot vendor and supplier issues; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine appropriate preventive or corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and participate in the issue resolution process with vendors.
  • Understand and support sourcing and purchasing requirements for day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure all open purchase orders are accurate and update promise dates.
  • Verify invoices from suppliers when purchase orders are not referenced.
  • Work with internal customers to understand purchasing needs and timelines.
  • Review standard pricing updates.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to the purchasing function.
  • Conduct spend analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation for all purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with global policies and processes in close collaboration with leadership.
  • Create and review SOWs and purchase orders in NetSuite by Oracle.
  • Back up Direct Buyers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience.
  • APICS, ISM, or other Supply Chain certification is highly desired.
  • Experience with indirect goods and services is required.
  • Strong understanding of Purchasing, Inventory, Accounting, General Ledger, and Accounts Payable concepts and how they integrate and interact.
  • Solid understanding and experience with logistics, Incoterms, and freight processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP software; Oracle and NetSuite preferred.
  • Candidates should possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, and should be process-oriented and results-driven.

Salary range: $64,324-$80,097

This base pay range will vary depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
