Senior Program Manager

Position Overview:


Inseego is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join our team in a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA. The Senior Program Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, business, and operations teams to define and drive execution of the plan of record for various programs in Inseego’s product roadmap. 

 

This role involves working cross-functionally with key engineering and business leads to develop end-to-end product plans—from initial requirements through broad market launch—with both direct and indirect customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overall program execution across the company’s product portfolio, including software integration tasks for customer deployments. Effective communication with senior leadership regarding program milestones, schedules, and issue mitigation is critical. Prior experience with industrial use cases and requirements is highly preferred. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead program management activities, including tracking milestones, schedules, deliverables, and program health. 
  • Interface with prospective and current customers to understand requirements and manage deliverables. 
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on program status, schedule risks, and mitigation strategies. 
  • Oversee project budgeting, resource allocation, materials planning, project timelines, and NPI (New Product Introduction) build planning. 
  • Support customers in integrating Inseego products into their solutions, including both software and system-level integration. 
  • Act as a technical liaison to assist customers with system integration prior to involving engineering development teams. 
  • Contribute to the evolution of software architecture and provide feedback to engineering teams. 
  • Willingness to travel as needed; international experience is a plus. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the wireless communications industry. 
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex wireless programs and projects, ideally involving new hardware and firmware design and development. 
  • Proven experience with engineering processes, including hardware (HW), firmware (FW), software (SW), mechanical design, and new product introduction (NPI) into factory environments. 
  • Demonstrated success working with major North American carrier customers, with in-depth knowledge of carrier acceptance processes. 
  • Strong operational background, including bill of materials (BOM) structures, supply chain management, and factory processes. 
  • Experience in quality assurance, including factory yield analysis, first article inspection (FAI), and customer quality metric reporting. 
  • Familiarity with wireless communication standards such as 5G, LTE, CDMA-1xRTT/EVDO, and GPRS/UMTS is highly desirable. 
  • Experience collaborating with third-party suppliers and original design manufacturers (ODMs). 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and coordinate the activities of Program Management Office (PMO) teams. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field 
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) 
  • PMP or PMI certification 
  • Familiarity with wireless communication standards including 5G, LTE, CDMA-1xRTT/EVDO, and GPRS/UMTS  

Salary Range:  $107,521-$130,111

This base pay range will vary depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
