We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our behavior management-focused adult day program serving adults with developmental disabilities. This role requires a skilled professional who can provide evidence-based behavioral interventions while supporting participants in achieving their individualized goals within a structured day program environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Behavioral Support & Intervention
- Implement individualized behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles
- Conduct systematic behavioral interventions and data collection
- Utilize crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques to maintain program safety
- Document behavioral observations and progress toward treatment objectives
Direct Care & Support
- Provide person-centered support aligned with Individual Program Plans (IPP)
- Facilitate skill development activities focused on independent living, social skills, and vocational readiness
- Assist with activities of daily living as needed
- Support participants in community integration activities within the day program setting
Program Implementation
- Execute structured daily programming and therapeutic activities
- Maintain detailed progress notes and behavioral data
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including behavior specialists, case managers, and families
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and case conferences
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and organizational policies
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for all program participants
- Report incidents and complete required documentation in accordance with regulations
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
- Experience in behavioral intervention or adult day programs preferred
- Training in crisis intervention techniques preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Ability to pass background clearance including DOJ fingerprinting
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- TB clearance and physical examination

- Physical ability to assist with mobility and personal care as needed
Transportation Requirements
- Reliable personal vehicle required
- Current auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements
- Willingness to transport participants when necessary (vehicle stipend provided)
