About the role
- A Traffic Control Technician (TCT) will perform and support traffic control and flagging tasks to provide safety and support to our contractors on job sites or public/private roadways.
What you'll do
- Use hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road constructions sites
- Maintain effective communication with all personnel onsite
- Monitor all potential safety hazards as needed
- Ensure all signs are appropriately positioned around construction sites
- Verify barricades and traffic cones are set up along construction sites to cordon off certain areas
- Ensure removal of all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Understanding of basic flagging policies, procedures, rules, and state and federal laws
- State valid flagging certification card
- Should have at least 2000 hours of road closure experience
- Valid driver's license, to operate company equipment/vehicle
- Be able to pass a pre employment drug screen (5 panel, includes legal and illegal substances)
