About The Role:
Intelliguard has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Columbus, OH reporting to the Senior Manager NPI and Manufacturing Engineering. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing RFID Inventory Management Systems for both medical and non-medical devices. You will be responsible for guiding products through the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to production, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. This role demands a strong focus on delivering innovative reliable solutions that meet the diverse needs of our various applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Mechanical Design: Proficiently design mechanical components and systems, utilizing expertise in CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Project Management: Manage projects from conception to production, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and procurement to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into the production process.
- Feasibility Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analysis to evaluate design concepts and optimize manufacturability.
- Prototype Development: Oversee the development, testing, verification of prototypes, iterating designs as necessary to meet performance requirements.
- Design Transfer: Assist the design transfer of product from design to manufacturing.
- Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to production teams during manufacturing, assist in troubleshooting and implementing solutions to improve quality and production processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Using our QMS system, ensure designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and industry guidelines.
We Would Love To Her From You, If:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering. Medical Device experience preferred.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes (i.e. BOM’s, Work Instructions, workflow, value stream mapping, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project management experience, ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and mitigate risks.
- Knowledge of regulatory ISO 13485:2016 standards

The pay range for this role is:
102,500 - 112,000 USD per year (Ohio Office)
