About The Role:
Intelliguard has an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbus, OH reporting to Corporate Controller. We’re looking for a Staff Accountant with a minimum of 1 year of experience and/or prior internship experience in Accounting to join our growing team. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledger integrity, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close. This role will also be responsible for ensuring vendor invoices are processed, verified and paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands GAAP, values accuracy, and is comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities with minimal supervision
- Reconcile complex bank and general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and accuracy
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial trends and performance
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and disposals
- Review and verify incoming invoices for accuracy and proper authorization
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, and inquiries
- Ensure proper approvals are in place before processing payments
- Maintain organized records of all AP transactions and supporting documentation
- Assist with tax reporting obligations such as 1099 filings (as applicable)
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested schedules and responding to inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve financial workflows
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementation
- Uphold strong internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in Accounting and/or prior internship experience
- Bonus: CPA or progress toward CPA

- Onsite role in Columbus, OH (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
