Position: Senior Sales Development Manager
As a Senior Sales Development Manager, you’ll help shape the future of Interplay Learning by leading a dynamic and successful SDR team. You will provide strategic oversight to our SDR Managers while staying close to the craft by managing a small group of individual contributors. By bridging the gap between marketing and sales, you’ll drive predictable pipeline growth and use your coaching expertise to empower a diverse team to reach their full potential.
Why this position:
- Meaningful, impactful work: Drive the strategic expansion of a platform that is actively reshaping professional training and workforce development.
- Mission-driven company: Work for an organization committed to closing the skills gap through immersive technology.
- Career development in a dynamic, high growth environment: Join a scaling team where you have a direct hand in building the business development playbook.
- Passionate, collaborative team: Collaborate with Go-To-Market (GTM) leaders and strategic innovators who are experts in their fields.
- Innovative product - EdTech, VR, AI: Represent a cutting-edge simulation-based learning platform that utilizes Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence.
What you’ll do:
- Leadership & Team Development: Train, coach, and develop SDR Managers, equipping them with frameworks to run effective 1:1’s, conduct call reviews, lead collaborative call blocks and manage performance metrics.
- Direct SDR Management: Directly manage the inbound SDR and a pod of 2–3 senior SDRs focused on complex verticals; test and refine messaging before rolling it out organization-wide.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: Alongside Recruiting, lead the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of high-performing SDRs to continually build a strong, resilient talent bench for the sales organization.
- Sales Methodology & Coaching: Lead recurring team training sessions and call reviews to improve objection handling, refine opening pitches, and ensure consistent execution of high-impact sales methodologies across the organization.
- Process Governance: Standardize and enforce sales protocols regarding account ownership and lead timing to ensure a seamless, conflict-free handoff between teams.
- Strategic Outreach & Messaging: Partner with Marketing and RevOps to design targeted sales campaigns and inbound routing rules. You will own the end-to-end messaging strategy—writing and A/B testing high-performance scripts and templates across all channels—while continuously optimizing team performance data to maximize conversion rates.
Who you are:
- Analytical & Data-Driven: Diagnoses performance bottlenecks by investigating dials-to-connect and connect-to-meeting ratios rather than relying on intuition.
- Scalable Leadership: Multiplies impact through frameworks; highly skilled at coaching managers on how to effectively coach and develop their own representatives.
- Process Obsessed: Views a missed handoff or a poorly logged CRM note as a systemic failure and builds rigorous processes to prevent them.
- Resilient Motivator: Fosters a high-energy, competitive culture that balances high expectations with high empathy.
- Cross-Functional Collaborator: Excellent communication skills to align with marketing and AE leadership on inbound lead routing, meeting quality, and continuous feedback loops.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of SDR/BDR management experience in a B2B SaaS environment, with proven experience managing both individual contributors and team leads/managers.
- Deep technical proficiency in Interplay’s core sales tech stack: Salesforce (dashboards/reports), ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator (lead sourcing), Salesloft (cadence strategy), Nooks (dialer analytics/battle cards), and Gong (talk-to-listen ratios, call tagging).
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding high-performing sales development talent.
- Preferred: Expertise in executing and coaching the Challenger Sales Methodology and MEDDPIC qualification framework.
- Preferred: Strong copywriting skills and experience building boolean searches or targeted lists in ZoomInfo/Sales Navigator, managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and delivering on deadlines.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without stipulations and be residents of the United States.
Following the offer of employment, all roles will require a background check and a drug and alcohol test. Some positions may require other verifications, such as, driver eligibility and record, credentials or education.
