Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team by assisting with patient care, administrative duties, and daily workflow to ensure smooth and efficient operations in the healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and able to provide high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during clinical procedures
  • Record patient histories, vital signs, and other medical information
  • Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, and administer medications/injections as directed
  • Collect and label specimens (e.g., urine, blood) for lab testing
  • Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms and medical equipment

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
  • Verify insurance and assist with billing/coding tasks
  • Document clinical information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Handle patient communications via phone or secure messaging

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) strongly preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in EHR systems and basic computer use
  • Professional, courteous, and committed to patient-centered care

Work Environment:

  • Clinical office or outpatient setting
  • Frequent walking, standing, and lifting (up to 30 lbs)
  • Direct patient contact and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
