Job Summary:

Physician Assistants are integral members of the healthcare team, providing high-quality medical care under the supervision of a physician. With responsibilities ranging from conducting physical exams and diagnosing illnesses to prescribing medications and developing treatment plans, the PA role embodies a unique balance of autonomy and collaboration within this practice.

This position requires not only medical expertise and clinical proficiency but also compassion, critical thinking, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct physical exams and record patient histories
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, blood tests)
  • Develop and manage treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications as appropriate
  • Provide patient education and counseling on preventive care
  • Perform routine healthcare tasks such as immunizations and wound care
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Accurately document patient care services
  • Manage follow-up care and continuity of treatment plans

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of current medical practices, standards, and protocols
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Valid State Licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • High ethical and professional standards
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional development
