About the role

We are seeking an Analytics & Data Visualization Engineer with approximately 3 years of experience to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, ensuring that scientific data is transformed and structured in a way that enables seamless reporting and visualization. This individual will work primarily with Looker and Snowflake, building scalable analytics solutions that empower our R&D and Commercial teams to make data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will work out of our Cambridge, MA headquarters but remote work may be considered for the right candidate.


What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Looker Explores, Dashboards, and custom data visualizations to support scientific data analysis.
  • Write and optimize LookML to create user-friendly, performant data models.
  • Design and implement ELT pipelines in Snowflake, transforming raw data into structured, analytics-ready datasets.
  • Leverage Snowflake Dynamic Tables, UDFs, and other advanced features to enhance data accessibility and performance.
  • Collaborate with scientists, analysts, data scientists, and engineers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality analytics solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the platform.
  • Continuously improve data processes, documentation, and best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • ~3 years of experience working with Looker (LookML, Explores, Dashboards, Visualizations) and Snowflake, or experience using comparable business intelligence and data warehousing tools.
  • Strong SQL skills, with experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ELT processes, data transformation, and building analytics-friendly datasets.
  • Familiarity with custom Looker visualizations (D3, e.g.) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with scientific data or in an R&D environment.
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data processing.
  • Experience with dbt or similar tools for managing transformations.
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 per year. At Invaio, we are committed to transparency and accuracy in our hiring practices. Our salary offers are aligned with Invaio’s compensation philosophy and take into account various factors, including education, training, experience, external market conditions, the criticality of the role, and internal equity. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local wage requirements for the job location.
