Summary

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support a respected outpatient therapy practice located in New Port Richey, Florida. This role will provide direct treatment support to individuals across the lifespan, from children to adults, seeking to improve their participation in daily routines such as self-care, education, work, play, and community involvement.

You will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists, helping to carry out individualized care plans, deliver hands-on therapy, and engage with families and caregivers to promote progress beyond the clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct treatment services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Assist patients in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to improve functional independence
• Contribute to the implementation of therapy plans for clients of all ages and ability levels
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy, sensory processing, and therapeutic strategies to support care outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions using appropriate medical terminology
• Provide a safe, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with therapists and healthcare staff on care planning
• Offer family and caregiver education to reinforce therapy goals outside the clinic

Qualifications

• Certification as a COTA from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active Florida licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• Strong foundational knowledge in occupational therapy techniques and developmental principles
• Experience with both pediatric and adult populations preferred, but not required
• Effective communication skills with clients, families, and clinical teams
• A compassionate and professional demeanor committed to high-quality care
