Summary

Invictus is seeking a Database Engineer Level 3 to design, develop, and optimize database systems in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, supporting mission critical applications that require secure, scalable, and high performance data environments. This role spans the full database lifecycle, including schema design, data modeling, query development, and performance optimization, while supporting data ingestion, transformation, and retrieval across distributed systems. The position requires balancing data volume, performance, and security requirements, and includes collaboration with software and system engineering teams to align database solutions with overall architecture. As a senior level role, this position includes responsibility for guiding database design decisions and supporting long term data strategy in structured and secure environments.

This is a full time W2 position requiring an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database architectures aligned with system requirements
• Support database implementation, storage, retrieval, and performance optimization
• Develop and maintain queries, scripts, and data transformation processes
• Support database loading and parsing activities
• Analyze and optimize database performance
• Translate system requirements into scalable database solutions
• Support data integrity, governance, and security across systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of database engineering experience
• At least 2 years of PostgreSQL experience
• Experience with relational and object oriented database design
• Experience developing complex queries and working with large datasets
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and system architecture
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud based database technologies
• Experience supporting large scale or distributed environments
• Experience with data modeling and database architecture design
