Job Summary

The Strategist plays a pivotal role in creating impactful experiential marketing and brand campaigns, working cross-functionally to set up our clients and teams for success with strategic frameworks that lead to big ideas. In this role, endless curiosity and a desire to solve complex challenges is crucial. The Strategist helps synthesize complex information while becoming an expert in the business challenges and opportunities for our clients and prospects, while advocating for the needs of the target audience. Strategists live and breathe our clients’ business, understand their product offerings, audience needs, competitive landscape, and market position. They are then able to derive key insights and partner with the Invision Creative team to develop solutions that solve client challenges. The Strategist also develops and implements communications plans, understands how to build campaigns and messaging frameworks, and will support and partner with the SVP, Strategic Solutions, the Senior Strategy Director, and Research & Insight Team to create thought leadership and published research. This person will support four to six current Invision clients, developing strategies tailored to each brand’s unique business objectives and target audiences.


Tasks/Responsibilities

The general duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Support the development of briefs that align internal teams around the opportunity, and address relevant insights that drive creative development
  • Support new business development efforts by partnering with Client Services to identify client business challenges and organic growth opportunities
  • Drive success and growth in both current and prospective client accounts in supporting the proposal process, including development of RFP questions and responses
  • Conduct research including qualitative and quantitative analysis pertaining to client business challenges and relevant audience targets
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of client brands, customers, and competitors—and a strong business acumen in order to understand and translate business strategies into communications opportunities
  • Prepare and lead client visioning sessions that align key stakeholders (C-level executives) around initiative objectives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of measurement and analytics frameworks that map to clients’ business objectives
  • Partner with the Creative Design Group (CDG) to design holistic engagement strategies that include live, experiential, digital, and social tactics
  • Support the development and growth of the Strategic Solutions Group (SSG) including business plan development, refinement of SSG offerings and services, ongoing competitive analysis, process development, and internal education of SSG
  • Provide support to the Invision leadership team on company strategy, where needed

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and presenting capabilities and proposals
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative and Client Services in the development of internal marketing campaigns/sales aides to ensure successful rollout of new solutions to internal stakeholders
  • Perform market research on internal and external solutions and offerings, client advisory, Industry trends and focus areas
  • Complete special projects as assigned by SVP, Strategic Solutions Group

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Entrepreneurial and a self-starter
  • Has a knack for understanding audiences, what motivates them and what messages resonate to move them to action
  • Has exceptional communication skills (visual, written, etc.). Can distill and synthesize complex concepts to develop compelling narratives and framing for proposals, marketing collateral, critical presentations, and other strategic interactions
  • Comfortable with a variety of research tools, from Artificial Intelligence to mining trends databases, such as Canvas8, Qualtrics and Gartner, for insight and information
  • Displays a strong understanding of strategy with awareness of methodologies, trends and key performance indicators
  • Has experience successfully bringing together people from different disciplines to achieve desired outcomes
  • Has a collaborative mindset and thrives in situations with many different stakeholders and different points of view
  • Is comfortable with planning and vision-setting, open to new ideas and not afraid to learn from past client experiences
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple simultaneous projects

Hours

  • Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).  However, due to the nature and scope of the position days and hours may fluctuate.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform job duties that may include an average amount of lifting (+ or – 25lbs.), sitting, bending, stooping and standing is required.

Travel Requirements

  • Medium travel (30%) is associated with this position. Travel for Invision or client-related business is reimbursable at the amount allotted under state & federal guidelines. An expense sheet must be submitted for reimbursement.

Education/Experience:

  • This position requires a minimum of 4-6 years of strategic marketing experience as an experiential strategist, brand planner, or advertising strategist. Agency and/or experiential marketing strategy experience a plus.

Salary:

  • The salary range for this role is from $110,000.00 to $150,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range, based on factors such as geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, which may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for benefits including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
