About the Position

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) seeks a Senior Human Resources Manager with Development experience to recruit, onboard and support professionals who can advance change at the intersection of clean energy, regulatory policy and community initiatives for IREC. Additionally, this role will assist the Vice President of Development by working with colleagues and partners to develop funding proposals that support IREC’s missions and programming.


The Senior Human Resources/ Development Manager will be closely involved with proposal development, digital fundraising, employee recruitment, and occasional events. The successful candidate will possess a proactive work style with strong follow-up skills and the desire to learn from experienced colleagues.


Responsibilities

Recruiting and Human Resources (70-75%)

  • Lead recruiting activities by developing and marketing job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new employees. Manage exit interviews and offboarding.
  • Lead the development and implementation of an internship program at IREC.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of employee benefit programs. 
  • Support internal initiatives to further strengthen IREC’s workplace culture and organizational impact, including initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).


Development and Project Management (25-30%)

  • Support the proposal development process by assisting with identification of opportunities, determining application requirements, ensuring deadlines are met, collecting and formatting materials, setting up meetings, notetaking, and related duties.
  • Assist with digital fundraising, donor outreach, and CRM system management.
  • Support project management tasks such as grant reporting, budget oversight, and maintaining donor records/database
  • Work with the communications team on two to three events per year, and in promoting successful grant acquisition and related announcements of funding.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualities for This Role:

The successful candidate will bring the following qualities to IREC:

Required 

  • Experience in human resources, recruiting, and/or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or academic setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Tech savvy and willing/able to learn and propose new technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within small teams
  • Willingness to be flexible, adapt to new technologies, learn, and shift course as needs arise
  • Passionate about clean energy, human growth, and accessibility

Preferred

  • Experience with private foundation, state and federal grant applications
  • Experience with project management software such as Asana
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Active Campaigns and Network for Good
  • A bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience or associate’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience; four additional years of work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
