About the role

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting, financial, and administrative services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate departmental operations.


What you'll do

  • Provides direct administrative and clerical support to the Accounting Department
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Finance Department
  • Manages mail sorting, to include the management of physical checks received, daily
  • Completes deposits into appropriate accounts, daily
  • Completes (“cuts”) physical checks for payment, daily
  • Maintains the organization of physical filing systems
  • Completes print jobs, fax jobs, and mail-outs, as required
  • Conducts research on checks
  • Enters transactions into QuickBooks, as required
  • Assists with the Financial Request Queue, as required
  • Assists with the preparation and processing of invoices
  • Assists with research on invoices as required
  • Assists with monthly closing activities as required
  • Assists with accounts payable / accounts receivable
  • Assists with the preparation of financial statements
  • Assists with special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College
  • High school Diploma
  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Average knowledge of Excel, as well as experience with MS Office.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Comfort learning new software (Quickbase, possibly Quickbooks)
  • Careful use of grammar and formatting based on company standards

The pay range for this role is:

22 - 25 USD per hour (HQ)
