About the role

iSono Health seeks a Head of Sales to lead the company’s commercial strategy and drive revenue growth. This critical leadership role reports directly to the CEO, with engagement opportunities with the board of directors and investors. The Head of Sales will be responsible for building and executing a go-to-market strategy that positions iSono Health as a leader in AI-powered breast imaging.

As the first commercial hire, the Head of Sales will establish the sales infrastructure, lead pipelines, pricing models, market segmentation, and sales processes necessary for scaling revenue. This individual will start with carrying the bag and selling to the first accounts, while developing and preparing for a high-performing sales team Given the complexity of selling hardware, software, AI, and disposable-based medical devices, the ideal candidate must possess deep expertise in medical imaging, diagnostics, and capital equipment sales.

The Head of Sales must be a credible leader, capable of engaging with radiologists, imaging centers, hospitals, and payers while also effectively communicating business growth and market traction to the iSono Health team,  investors, and board members. This role requires a hands-on, execution-driven leader transitioning iSono Health from an R&D organization to a fully scaled sales organization. 

This position requires a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable traveling up to 50% of the time to engage with KOLs, customers and represent the company at sites, conferences, and events.


What you'll do

  • Build the Market, Revenue Growth & Market Adoption
    • Own the company’s revenue strategy and execution, with direct responsibility for driving sales, closing deals, and meeting growth targets.
    • Define and implement a go-to-market strategy, including market segmentation, pricing, sales channels, and distribution partnerships.
    • Establish a scalable sales process, including customer targeting, lead generation, and conversion tactics.
  • Commercial Leadership & Sales Team Development
    • Build and lead the first commercial sales team, hiring and training high-performing sales representatives.
    • Develop sales training programs, performance metrics, and compensation structures to drive team success.
    • Foster a strong commercial culture, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and long-term growth objectives.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
    • Develop relationships with radiologists, breast surgeons, hospital administrators, imaging centers, and payers to drive adoption.
    • Lead key account management efforts, ensuring early customers have a seamless implementation experience and become reference sites.
    • Gather customer insights and market feedback to inform product development and commercial strategy.
  • Investor & Board Interaction
    • Represent revenue performance, market adoption, and sales forecasts to the board of directors and investors.
    • Provide commercial insights to support fundraising efforts and corporate strategy discussions.
    • Develop key business metrics and performance dashboards to track progress.
  • Partnerships & Strategic Business Development
    • Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to expand market reach and accelerate revenue growth.
    • Develop relationships with key industry stakeholders, including distributors, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), and payer networks.
    • Assess new revenue opportunities, including international expansion and reimbursement strategies.

About YOU

  • 20+ years of experience in medical device sales and commercialization, with a strong track record of driving revenue growth and scaling sales teams.
  • Proven experience in selling capital equipment, imaging technologies, AI-powered diagnostics, or ultrasound-based solutions.
  • Prior leadership experience in a high-growth startup or early-stage medtech company is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in both direct sales and building a scalable sales team.
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to present to investors, board members, and strategic partners.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare sales cycles, reimbursement models, and regulatory considerations.
  • A hands-on closer who can immediately bring in revenue based on his/her existing relationships 
  • A strategic thinker who builds a repeatable GTM model
  • A startup builder who hires & scales the sales team with a strong work ethic and passion for building cultures
  • Ability to travel extensively to meet customers, attend industry conferences and support field sales efforts.
