About the role
As the Ultrasound Imaging Scientist, you will lead the development, optimization, and validation of advanced ultrasound imaging techniques and machine learning-based approaches, focusing specifically on beamforming, image quality enhancement, and ML-based qunatitative ultrasound solutions.
What you'll do
- Design and implement cutting-edge software-based ultrasound beamforming techniques.
- Create advanced algorithms to optimize image acquisition processes.
- Develop a sophisticated image processing pipeline, transforming raw RF ultrasound data into 3D reconstrcuted ultrasound images.
- Build state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms for image quality enhancement.
- Conduct research and validation studies aimed at improving image quality, resolution, and diagnostic accuracy in ultrasound imaging.
- Develop machine learning approaches for quantitative ultrasound image segmentation, detection, and classification tasks.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including software engineers, clinical researchers, and product managers to translate innovative ultrasound research into clinical applications.
- Develop reader studies for ultrasound imaging performance and prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory purposes.
- Stay updated on advances in ultrasound technology, machine learning applications, and relevant imaging standards, proactively proposing innovative methods and solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the QA team to conduct verification and validation (V&V) activities, integration testing, and end-to-end test automation.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in beamforming techniques, ultrasound image processing, and image quality enhancement.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB) with experience in ultrasound-specific software development and frameworks.
- Experience in developing ML based approaches specifically tailored to ultrasound imaging and QUS.
- Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years industry or post-doctoral experience focused on ultrasound imaging.
- Experience with software development for real-time systems with a hardware interface
- Familiarity with regulatory aspects of medical imaging software development
- Experience in clinical validation studies and knowledge of clinical ultrasound workflows
