Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced and highly skilled Tier 3 Engineer to join our top-tier engineering team at a leading nationwide Managed Service Provider (MSP). In this role, you’ll handle advanced technical escalations and support critical infrastructure projects across a diverse range of client environments. 

You’ll be part of a collaborative team of senior engineers working to resolve complex issues, deliver scalable solutions, and support the overall technical success of our clients’ environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-client environment and is passionate about solving challenging technical problems. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated service tickets, focusing on complex issues involving network, server, and security infrastructure. 
  • Lead or assist in the implementation of IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new technology deployments. 
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and mentor for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams. 
  • Troubleshoot and support multi-site environments including routing, switching, firewalls, and virtualization. 
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet (FortiGate), Meraki, and Sophos firewall appliances. 
  • Manage and support advanced Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.). 
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware environments and virtual infrastructure. 
  • Support and configure MSP backup solutions (e.g., Datto, Veeam, or similar). 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client environments, configurations, and solutions. 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to high-severity incidents as needed. 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in an MSP or similar multi-tenant environment. 
  • Strong expertise in routing and switching, including VLANs, VPNs, and subnetting. 
  • Proven experience with firewall configuration and support — FortiGate, Meraki, and Sophos preferred. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory and Group Policy. 
  • Proficiency with VMware vSphere/ESXi environments. 
  • Familiarity with MSP-centric backup solutions (Datto, Veeam, etc.). 
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Preferred Certifications (not required):

·        Fortinet NSE Certification(s) 

·        Cisco CCNA/CCNP 

·        Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate 

·        VMware VCP 

·        CompTIA Network+/Security+ or equivalent

Salary: $60,000 - $89,000 (based on experience)
