Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Sales Engineer, officially titled as vCIO. This position will work closely with our sales team and engineers, engaging with clients to align their technology strategies with business goals and provide high-level advisory services. This role requires both a strategic mindset and technical expertise to develop solutions that meet the needs of our clients. In addition, this role will be responsible for building and managing customer technology roadmaps, ensuring that clients' IT systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with their long-term objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • End Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their trusted IT advisor while collaborating closely with the sales and engineering teams.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop IT strategies that align with clients' business objectives and drive long-term technology solutions.
  • Technology Roadmaps: Create and manage technology roadmaps to ensure clients’ IT infrastructure is future-proof and scalable.
  • Budget Management: Assist clients in IT budgeting to ensure cost-effective solutions and sound investments.
  • Risk Management: Identify IT risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and data security.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee clients' IT systems, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure that clients' IT practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with sales teams to identify and present technology solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to clients on IT initiatives, metrics, and strategic plans.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or transferable skills.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in IT Sales Engineering or vCIO or a related field, ideally within an MSP environment, though MSP experience is not required.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills with the ability to engage customers and work closely with internal teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work across sales and engineering teams to find and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance is beneficial.
